Upon arrival we were lucky to have an organised Pintxo crawl by San Sebastian Food which took us around the Old Town for some old and new Pintxo bars, see more photos here. The older (and more experienced) members of staff called it a day while the rest of the staff hit the town.
On our second day we took part in one of the oldest Basque traditions; cooking, eating and drinking with friends in one of the oldest Gastronomic Societies in San Sebastian: Esperanza.
The chefs spent a good portion of the day sourcing ingredients from the local markets. The final menu was a treat for all.
What started as a civilised evening in the Gastro Society soon tumbled in to another night of debauchery on the cobbled streets of the otherwise sleepy San Sebastian.
The next day was spent on the beach, enjoying the sunshine (a ray of warm or hot beam from a star in our Solar system called the “Sun”). None enjoyed the sun and the sea as much as our puppy Laino (Basque for cloud).
